Review Policy (updated 1/5/2012)

I am currently NOT accepting review copies at this time. I will update this page if that changes in the future. Thank you for stopping by, and email me if you have any further questions.

Thank you for considering me as a possible reviewer for your book(s). I receive quite a few requests for reviews every day, but I do take the time to carefully consider each one before accepting or declining the request. Here is some information you should know before submitting a request to me.

I always write honest reviews. What that means is that if a book doesn’t work for me, I will say so. I will always be polite and never “bash” an author or a book but I always give my truthful opinion. Please do not ask me to review your book if you are only looking for positive reviews, because I cannot guarantee that.

I reserve the right to not finish and/or not review a book that I accept for review. I do review every single book I read; however if I am not enjoying a book after 50-100 pages (depending upon the total length of the book) I will usually abandon said book, which means it will not get reviewed.

If you have a particular time frame wherein you’d like the review to be published on my blog, please say so in your original email request. I do have a rough review schedule and it can be tweaked, but it is not fun to receive a book in the mail and then an email a week later asking for the review to be published soon. I will review at my own pace unless otherwise requested.

Generally, I am interested in reviewing books within the following genres:

  • Contemporary/Literary Adult fiction
  • Young Adult fiction
  • Women’s fiction
  • Historical fiction
  • Christian fiction
  • Nonfiction related to women’s issues, feminism, faith, politics, world issues, travel, and some memoirs
Generally, I am NOT interested in reviewing books within the following genres:

  • Romance
  • Mystery/suspense/horror
  • Fantasy
  • Children’s books (books marketed to kids younger than teens)
  • Self-help
  • Any self published books
I DO review audiobooks and ebooks. Please let me know if your book has multiple formats and if I can choose which medium in which to read it. I typically publish my reviews on Amazon and sometimes LibraryThing. If you’d like me to publish the review elsewhere I’m happy to accommodate.

Please send any review requests to me via email at book.addict29@gmail.com.
Thank you!

    1. Love your book lists, I myself am so tempted to write reviews on my blog as so many books left me captivated, but if your ever interested in great cultural books or books on religion or charity i could give u some great ideas

  2. I would be honored if you reviewed any of my books! They are all very different from each other and the query letters are listed here:
http://www.booksbysheri.webs.com All are available on amazon.com and ebooks, so they can be read on any computer, ipad/ipod or book reader via Kindle app! Best of all, most of my books are just .99 cents!

  3. I just stumbled across your blog today and LOVE it! 🙂 Thanks for all the reviews! And you have a very approachable site, which I appreciate!

My first novel (women’s fiction) entitled “Tanned, Toned and Totally Faking It” has been accepted for publication and will be out sometime this year. (Still in the editing process!) I would be honored if you would review it, and will be sure and email you with it’s information when it actually comes out!

    Cheers, Whitney 🙂

  4. Love audio books! Just finished Up From Blue and Cutting For Stone – working on Shanghai Girls. So enjoy your blog!

  5. Hey! have you read Zoriam by Taoufik Jazouli. It is such a unique and entertaining book. Have never read anything like it, makes me think this man is genius! It starts off slow with wonderful descriptions. Towards the end everything comes together and my final thought was, I want a second book!!!

  6. I would deeply appreciate it if you would consider reviewing my Amazon bestselling Kindle, Beyond Nostalgia. It has thirty-three 5-star reviews, and I hope you’ll take a peek at them. Thanks fo your consideration.
