Review Policy

As of October 1, 2009 I am accepting considerably fewer books for review.  Please only offer me books if a) we have worked together in the past or b) you can point to specific books I’ve enjoyed that your book compares to.  I am very backed up right now and don’t want to disappoint any of you with not finishing the books.  So please take that into consideration before asking, thank you!

First of all, thank you so much for even considering me to read your book/books!  I consider it an honor to read and review ARCs and other copies of books, and I do not take the job lightly.  That said, because of the huge influx of review offers I receive, I can only accept a small portion of requests, so there are a few things you should know before asking me to review something.

The genres I AM interested in reviewing are: contemporary fiction, historical fiction, chick lit, young adult, nonfiction, memoirs, fantasy, and thrillers.

The genres I am NOT interested in reviewing are: romance, mysteries, childrens’ books, science fiction, erotica, and e-books.

I do accept self-published books for review but I am extremely selective with these so please do not be offended if I do not accept yours.

I do my best to publish a review within 1-6 months from the day I receive the book in the mail.  If the book is an ARC, I try to publish the review on or around the release date.

Sending me a book for review does NOT guarantee a review.  I do not review books I cannot finish, so if I cannot or do not finish your book I will not review it.  I will, however, pass the book on to a friend if I cannot read it myself – usually another blogger, but sometimes not.

I review every book I finish, and I write honest reviews.  That means that if I legitimately found problems with a book or aspects of a book I did not enjoy, I will say so.  I do my absolute best to put a positive spin on my reviews and try to find something nice to say about every book I review, even if the review is negative overall.  You can get a good idea of the way I write reviews for books I’ve been sent by going here.  A complete list of everything I’ve reviewed on the blog can be found here.

I’m happy to participate in book tours and love doing giveaways.  I also enjoy doing author guest posts and author interviews.  I publish the vast majority of my reviews on LibraryThing as well as my blog.  I will post reviews on other sites (such as Amazon) by request, although I don’t usually do it by default.

All requests should be emailed to me directly at book.addict29@gmail.com.

Thank you!
