Fall Into Reading Challenge

I really need to organize my reading for the remainder of the year, and this challenge is the perfect way to do it!  The Fall Into Reading Challenge, hosted by Callapidder Days simply requests that we make reading goals for ourselves for the fall, and stick to it!  Easy enough, right?  This challenge is perfect for me because I have a few challenges that have deadlines in the near future that I’d really like to finish, and I also have recently found myself somewhat overwhelmed with review books and ARC’s.  So for this challenge, I plan to read a healthy mix from both categories.  Here is my list:

  • The Grapes of Wrath – John Steinbeck
  • Rebecca – Daphne du Maurier
  • The Triumph of Deborah – Eve Etzioni-Halevy
  • A Map of Home – Randa Jarrar
  • Love and Biology at the Center of the Universe – Jennie Shortridge
  • Inkheart – Cornelia Funke
  • The Bell Jar – Sylvia Plath
  • I Capture the Castle – Dodie Smith
  • The Road – Cormac McCarthy
  • Walking Through Walls – Philip Smith
  • The Pages in Between – Erin Einhorn
  • The Eight – Katherine Neville
  • The Fire – Katherine Neville
  • The Translator – Daoud Hari

Typing all of them out like that is a little daunting, I’m not gonna lie.  But logically I know that I can easily read 8 books in a month if I push myself, and I want to hit 100 this year anyway, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to finish this list.

What are your goals for the fall season… reading or otherwise?

  1. Good luck completing the challenge! Happy Reading! :)

  2. Good luck on that one Heather. I did a similar one this summer and failed miseably. I read far more than I put on my list, I just didn’t get to half of the books I put on the list. Other books came up that I didn’t plan on at all and then some came in to play that I needed to read for outside reasons…hope you do better with yours than I did with mine! :)

  3. I have trouble organizing my reading at all. I go to my TBR shelf, and whatever strikes me at the time, I pick up. Sometimes I put it back down after a couple of pages if the mood isn’t quite right.

PS I gave you an award!

  4. I’m going to sign up for this challenge even though I didn’t finish the Spring Reading one. I like lists!

  5. Good list — lots of variety! I read Rebecca for the first time last spring and really liked it. It took me a little while to get into it, but then I was hooked.

Thanks for being part of the challenge!
